Our client has a requirement for a Senior Architecture Consultant for 6 months Contract. The position is located in Toronto, Ontario

About the Job

This team works on the infrastructure & back end data management from trading application such as Murex, Calypso, Endure, and Wall Street. The contractor must be available to work on a 25/7 schedule. Manager advised that there will be work on most Saturdays.

 

Requirements and Qualification:

At least 8 years of experience in an architect role. Experience in Capital Market, Market risk area Experience with Red Hat Linux 4.x, 5.x Experience with Oracle Solaris Experience with VMWare ESXi Experience with Websphere MQ Experience working with IBM Natezza Database solution is an asset

 

Resource Responsibilities:

• The contractor will be responsible for the architecture of servers and database supporting the trading applications.
• Work closely with Engineering and Development Teams on the development of deliverables (architectures, standards, etc.)
• Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
• Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.

Our client has a requirement for an Architecture Consultant - Senior for a 6 Month Contract opportunity.  The position is located in Toronto, ON.

Summary:

•     Ensure that the data assets of an organization are supported by an architecture that supports the organization in achieving its strategic goal.

Education/Years of Experience:

•     Technical degree in computer programming or relevant field required.

•     Bachelor degree preferred.

•     8+ years experience required.

Specific Experience:

•     At least 5 years of working experience in the following knowledge and skills areas:

(1) Capital Markets business – life cycle of a trade, high level understanding of front office & back office processes, market data requirements

(2) Risk Management – business knowledge in Market Risk (VaR, Credit Value Adjustments), Credit Risk (counterparty replacement risk, stress test, credit limit monitoring), Monte Carlo simulations

(3) Enterprise architecture – multi-LOB systems integration, enterprise data architecture, SOA, event driven architecture

(4) Solution architecture down to the detail system design level, in-memory data grid, familiar with CM data communication protocols and CM & RM data modeling

•     Infrastructure knowledge

•     Knowledge of Web services

Skills and Competencies:

•     Strong knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.

•     Strong knowledge of logical data modeling and physical data modeling.

•     Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

•     Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

  

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•     Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.

•     Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.

•     Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

•     Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.

•     Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
