Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software (C/C++) and digital hardware (Microchip, Freescale) in a cross-platform development environment (Windows) for controlling analytical instrumentation and medical devices, using entry-level microcontrollers and digital IOs.
• Follow the full design life cycle process including project planning, subsystem requirements specification, design activities, code reviews, etc. and creating corresponding artifacts.
• Establish and execute verification plans against units and subsystems in simulated, emulated and laboratory environment.
• Create working prototypes using soldering, PCB and mechanical assembly.
• Develop and maintain manual/automated verification suites and automated build environment.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional development team.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

• Proven experience and fluency with programming in C/C++ for embedded applications.
• Proven experience and fluency with digital design around microcontrollers.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with related development tools such as logic analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, debuggers, emulators, simulators.
• Hands on experience with soldering and PCBAs
• Good understanding of microprocessor architectures, interfaces and digital logic.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Microchip or Freescale microcontrollers.
• Communication protocols and interfaces.
• Visual Studio and Windows development (C++ and/or C#, .NET)

Infrastructure QA Lead - 3rd party vendor Inspector


The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Create a test strategy and test plan with test cases to validate each infrastructure component and then full integrated/end to end testing and UAT testing.
• Ensure WMS works across all new network infrastructure and with new equipment (RF guns, vocollect headsets, phones, printer, Windows VM servers etc)
• Co-ordinate and oversee test execution done by vendors, defect management, effort estimation, prepare test summary and sign off documents.
• Attend site meetings at Warehouse facilities – (Requires incumbent to provide own hard hat, steel toed footwear and safety vest)
• Ongoing inspections connected with new construction and remodeling of existing warehouse facilities and associated LAN rooms to ensure 3^rd party vendors are following industry and Client
  Infrastructure and Network standards (e.g. network hardware/software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths or routine schemas, servers).
• Involves visual inspections, measurements and functional testing, ensuring work product meets specifications in terms of appearance and function.
• Working knowledge of construction techniques to ensure compliance with approved drawings/specs, building codes/regulations, OH&S standards, communication cabling standards, facility standards, quality assurance standards.
• Final Cold Eyes Review as part of a Phase Gate Project Delivery process.
• Ensures advance to next phase only if clearly defined requirements have been fully satisfied.
• Includes assessment of startup readiness of the facility, work processes and systems.
• Understanding of IT parameters and constraints impacting solutions
• Ensure proper Change Management process is followed
• Liaise with Project Manager, Architect, Data Comm team, Engineering, 3^rd party vendors
• Issue and sign off on Site Deficiency Reports, verify and accept As Built Drawings and Operational and Maintenance Manuals and ensure all required information has been received

Requirements or Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in building inspection
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables
• Ability to communicate and work well with other departments
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure
