Role

Responsibilities
  • Day to day management of the specified project deliverables on time as per the project plan.
  • Actively ensure knowledge transfer through partnership with WSIB’s Application Maintenance Team.
  • Ensure full system documentation is complete and reflect all current changes.

Develops effective communication plan to meet project and stakeholder needs.  Plans requirements approval and change. Identifies and communicates risks and issues that may require changes to plans or scope.
  • Elicitation: Ensures appropriate stakeholders are involved in elicitation activities, Obtains needed information from stakeholders to form requirements, Captures information provided in elicitation sessions. Validates requirements with stakeholder.
  • Requirements Management & Communication: Obtains the needed approvals on solution requirements, and manages changes to requirements.  Manages conflicts and issues to resolution, Traces requirements from business case to implemented solution. Prepares requirements documentation and presents in understandable format, ensures stakeholders have a shared understanding of requirements. Assesses impacts of changes to requirements.
  • Requirements Analysis: Prioritizes requirements effectively based on factors including business value, cost to deliver, time constraints. Understands appropriate use of various analysis techniques.  Develops models that describe a business domain. Ensures that requirements and models meet the needed quality to effectively guide further work. Ensures that all requirements support the delivery of business value, fulfills goals and objectives, and meets a stakeholder needs.
  • Solution Assessment and Validation: Assesses solution proposals and demonstrate which proposal will be most effective, Allocates stakeholder and solution requirements among solution components to maximize business value. Assesses the organizational readiness for the new solution. Defines capabilities and requirements to support transition to new solutions Validates that the solution meets the business need, Measures and evaluates solutions for value and opportunities.
  • Participate in project assessments and the creation of the corresponding business cases
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation and understand interdependencies of the clients systems
  • Maintains domain Application-System knowledge and keeps abreast of new technology developments in key areas of responsibilities

Qualified Candidates will have

  • Accuracy – Ensure that business measurement rules are accurately reflected in report queries.  Queries must be sustainable, and not apply bad design practices like hardcoding of criteria to achieve that accuracy.
  • Support – Apply development best practices that reduce need for support calls while allowing flexibility for future modifications and improvement.  Good design, coding, and documentation standards are vital to reduce and resolve errors.
  • Enhance – Identify opportunities to simplify report development and improve database query performance.

Requirements or Qualifications
  • University degree (business or computer science related).
  • One year experience in a development role.
  • Excellent knowledge of database design and coding.  In particular, MS Access, MS Excel, and VBA will be used most on the job. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of financial KPI calculations.

The Business Technology Service (BTS) Division within the client’s organization is seeking for a Senior Business Analyst to support various Contact Centre project implementations. This role will lead and conduct business analysis and systems consulting services related to IT systems development and application maintenance and support.
The successful candidate will conduct business and system analysis, feature/story analysis and documentation, planning and overall needs assessment of various Contact Centre initiatives including but not limited to an existing Telax implementation and Avaya upgrade from inception through closure.  All supporting project deliverables will be completed successfully within scope/time/cost.  This will be accomplished while adhering to established client’s processes and project standards/methodologies i.e .Kanban. 

Requirements
  • Experience working in Public sector organizations, leading business analysis for large and complex telephony implementations
  • Hands on experience with Telax and Avaya Contact Centre solutions in a lead Senior Business Analyst role
  • Exceptional soft skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns.
  • Ability to facilitate negotiation and build consensus amongst competing parties
  • Proven experience and passion for facilitating requirements gathering sessions, build functional designs, use case/BDD development, facilitating and documenting test scenarios or test criteria based on knowledge gained through business and systems analysis of complex telephony and web applications and websites.
  • Excellent strengths in time management and organization skills with an aptitude toward creative problem solving.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively, making progress on tasks while dealing with process and project ambiguity.
  • Strong experience in vendor relationship management, particularly in complex IT delivery projects
  • Prioritizing to manage a very high volume of day-to-day activities and balance their demands against longer-term work and project commitments.

Role 
We are looking for a  Mainframe Technical Specialist  (IMS  and DB2 DBA) for a permanent fulltime role in Winnipeg.

 Responsibilities
  • Provides 2nd Level 7 x 24 on-call Mainframe Database Support on a rotating basis
  • Provides day to day database administration of the IMS and DB2 subsystem databases (including database backup and recovery services, reorgs, space management, security grants, etc.)
  • Manages and monitors ongoing IMS and/or DB2 database performance and capacity to ensure service level expectations are maintained
  • Manage access to system level DBMS resources based on GLI Security procedures and policies
  • Identifies resource utilization trends and recommends options for addressing capacity issues in order to meet business requirements and service level agreements
  • Manages lifecycle for Mainframe Database software tools (excluding major product upgrades or product replacements)
  • Maintains operational documentation for IMS and DB2 infrastructure
  • Provides technical expertise for project and upgrade implementations
  • Provides basic database training to the Operations group and Service Desk
  • Identifies process improvements and opportunities within mainframe scope and other services within Shared Enterprise Services (SES)
  • Provides mainframe database disaster recovery services  
  • Works with Service Delivery and Change Management to ensure non disruptive implementation of mainframe database infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in a large-scale Information Services operation or a technical support organization
  • Education: Education/skills acquired through completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent (e.g. Degree or diploma in a related discipline like Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with IMS and DB2 databases subsystems
  • Strong knowledge of database administration tools and functions (e.g. database utility programs, database space management, DB2 rebinds, queries, scans, reorgs, security grants, IMS Gens, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and knowledge of software diagnosis techniques
  • Knowledge of database design / logic
  • Knowledge of mainframe hardware, software and tools
  • Knowledge of  I.S. processes and procedures including change management and incident management
  • Knowledge of database back-up and recovery tools (Image Copies, Loads/Unloads, Recovery, DBRC)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (one or more of - PL/I, Cobol, Assembler, REXX, CLIST)
  • Ability to use office productivity tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and have strong team work skills

Qualified Candidates will have
  • IT project management experience (preferred software upgrade project experience) 
  • Over 5 years’ experience with PMLC/SDLC 
  • Over 5 years of experience with MS Project, Excel 
  • PMP certified
  • Financial industry experience/banking industry experience preferred.
