Qualifications

  • 5+ years certified Pega developer- (SSA) experience an asset
  • DB2* – 7 yrs 
  • SQL – Oracle* 5 yrs 
  • Proven track record in the development of large, complex software programs and/or ongoing support in both host and distributed environments working with multiple technology stakeholders including 3rd party vendors 
  • Superior analysis and problem solving skills to quickly decompose complex issues into manageable pieces in an extremely complex environment 
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding environment 
  • Ability to understand and acquire new application and technical skills 

Asset To Have 
  • Working knowledge of Unix / AIX, Cobol, JCL, CA7 and IMS DB/DC would be an asset 
Delivery and Methodology 
  • Develop / enhance applications and performs unit / component test for application development efforts 
  • Create and maintains quality code, consistent with quality standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment
  • Support business enquiries and business activities through execution of small enhancements and break/fix implementations 
  • Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available / appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding 
  • Participate in identifying and recommending development/testing solutions/tools in support of project/application objectives 
  • Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards 
  • Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) - including creation of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc. 
  • Inform the Technical Architect, Technology Project Manager or Development Manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project 
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery 
Technology & Infrastructure 
  • Conduct program/ system research, analysis, detailed design and problem resolution 
  • Work with other Developers and Solution Designers to ensure that the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals 
  • Assist in the development/maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures 
  • Document the application to facilitate maintenance 
  • Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities 
  • Ensure Application On-call procedures and processes are up to date and adhered to 
  • Ensure both state-of-health monitoring and monthly SLA targets are in place, and are being met
  • Provide technical leadership during Incident Management, analyze incident reports and outages, perform impact assessment for incidents and facilitate internal and external communication throughout incident resolution 
  • Perform Systems Administration of applications/environments supported by the LOB: 
    • Monitor application / service performance 
    • Perform configuration, backup, authentication & tuning

  • In conjunction with Application Owner, provide Technical Input into Business Recovery Plans (BRP) and IT Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) 
  • Assist with IT Audits and the satisfactory resolution of any audit findings 
  • Ensure lessons learned are identified, clearly documented and enhancements are accordingly implemented

Role

  • Ensure risk platforms used for risk capture are current and internally consistent.
  • Assist in the documentation of procedures, control processes, and policies relevant to internal controls.
  • Manage the interaction with end-user groups to provide support as needed.
  • Manage the relationships with clients across the organization as well as with the vendor.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements within the counterparty risk system infrastructure.
  • Represent Market Risk interests vis-à-vis Technology & Development and external vendors to ensure proper and timely implementation of system enhancements within project scope.
  • Negotiate timelines.
  • Escalate delays or unexpected problems that may impede progress or delay implementation.

Requirements or Qualifications 
  • 8 - 10 years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic direction for major projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in large IT development projects, with direct experience in developing functional specifications and conducting user acceptance testing
  • Strong understanding of derivative products, SFT’s (security finance transactions) and market, as well as he risk management methodologies associated with these (ie. model related and pricing).
  • Knowledge of Adaptiv (or other risk system) or a front office trading system.
  • Exposure to quantitative analysis/risk exposure.
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent business writing skills and the ability to clearly and precisely articulate complex business practices into clear and easy to follow processes.

Reporting to the IT Manager, Infrastructure Build, the Technical Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Perform technical execution on respective area of expertise (SUSE Linux) during build phase, as per design documents

    • Support QA teams during test phases, as required

    • Provide Level 3 support production incidents, engage third party vendors and coordinate the middleware technical aspects incident resolution as needed
    • Initiate and control project related changes as per change management process, using Remedy system, provide the technical implementation plan for the infrastructure middleware installation, configuration and applications deployment
    • Organize and participate in the project hand-over to Operations teams
    • Prepare and present data for management reports
    • Research and evaluate external software and hardware tools.
    • Assist in the development of project plans along with establishing effort estimates for relevant Build activities on assigned projects.
    • Plan and perform UNIX environments maintenance

Requirement or Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of IT related experience.
  • Current hands-on technical expertise in an enterprise UNIX environment (SUSE Linux preferred)
  • Expertise in creating rpm packages and automated installation procedures
  • Shell scripting
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Exposure in creating documentation – build book, operations manual, knowledge base
  • TCP/IP Networking concepts

Responsibilities
  • Utilize Oracle subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, security, recoverability, and supportability, all while minimizing costs.

  • Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Qualifications
  • Consult, design, build, test, and deploy Oracle database solutions
  • Administer Oracle database infrastructure from design to deployment
  • design or re-use, configure, and implement database
  • Provide escalation level of support
  • 7 -10 years working experience performing as an Oracle DBA
  • 7 years experience in building and administering Oracle environments (9i, 10g)
  • 5 years experience in building and administering Oracle RAC environments (9i, 10g) building and administering Database backups using RMAN with TSM and/or Netbackup, ASM, DataGuard, and OEM Grid Control
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher certificates on Oracle 9i or Oracle 10g.
  • Applying CPUs and Patch Sets
  • UNIX Shell Scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Database centric solutions to deliver High Availability and Disaster Recovery. Awareness of non-Database centric capabilities (HACMP, VCS, True Copy)
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience involving strong communications skills (written and verbal), proven ability to effectively interact with individuals across business units and at various levels within the Bank (technical, business, including Management).
  • Highly organized and possessing strong analytical skills
  • Highly adaptable with ability to work in a fast paced demanding environment
  • Must be team-oriented with ability to work well with multiple teams in a cross-functional setup
  • Self-motivated, with strong sense of ownership and urgency to deliver projects/tasks in a timely fashion
  • Must be able to effectively represent DBA team on escalated incident management calls from operations

Specific Responsibilities & Primary Duties
  • Develop and maintain a network of key talent potentially available for immediate hire.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Diploma/University Degree in IT or Computer Science preferred
  • Previous Technical/Engineering recruitment experience is preferred
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Initiative, proactive, assertive, strong sense of urgency and the ability to handle many job orders simultaneously is required.
  • Ability to keep organized in a fast-paced, multi-request, high-volume Candidate environment.
