Our client has a requirement for Applications Specialists for a 6 months contract opportunity.  The positions are located in Mississauga.

Requirement or Qualifications:

Implementation Services is situated on the critical path of application and Infrastructure implementations. The Business Application Services teams are responsible for testing, deploying and updating support documentation of the Bank’s business applications. As a member of the Business Application Services team, you will be primarily responsible for operational testing and deployment of application change into the production environment. The team works with various distributed technologies/applications (UNIX, Windows and AS400). You will also work closely with Technology Solutions, Operations Support,  External vendors, Business users and Engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of products/changes into the production environment.

  • Be organized, self-motivated and goal oriented.

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
A bachelor's or college degree from an accredited institution. MCSE certification, or 5 + years experience in related Information technology field

Must Haves:
  • Strong breadth of knowledge of Development (does not need to be a Developer)
  • Strong breadth of knowledge of Application/Infrastructure Testing, such as operational testing, non-functional testing etc.
  • Strong Infrastructure background, preferably from an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Windows platform environment
  • 3+ years of experience of UNIX/ AIX
  • 5+ years of experience in Change and Problem Management methodologies
  • 1+ years of experience with Middleware components such as WebSphere, Oracle, or WebLogic.
  • 1+ years of experience with UNIX based scripting (Shell / Perl)
  • 2+ years of experience having exposure to PAT and Production environments
  • Incident tracking tool / Ticketing Tool (Internally uses USD – Unicentre Service Desk) however we will accept other tools; Remedy / Heat/ Clarify…etc.
  • Be proficient with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • 1+ years of experience using MKS (this is a tool used to go from Development to PAT and Production)
  • Due to the nature of this role, there may be occasions for on-call / off-hours /occasional weekends

Requirement or Qualifications:

  • Work with business stakeholders and other SMEs to assess current capabilities and understand high-level business requirements
  • Understand business requirements and apply technical background/understanding in the development of System Requirements Specification (SRS) documents
  • Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
  • Work with the business to design effective “To-Be” processes
  • Identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases
  • Work with the Technology Project Manager and architecture organization to define metrics and performance goals for the application
  • Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  • Work with the Solution Designers to translate user and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and escalate issues as required
  • As required, research, design, develop and/or support solutions, processes, applications, systems, and products that maximize efficiency, effectiveness and/or system availability, and minimize or prevent problems and issues
  • Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) - including development of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects
  • Develop or participate in development of test scripts ensuring adherence to agreed upon business requirements and participate in the testing of developed systems/solutions
  • Support TSS in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing
  • Maintain a solid understanding of standards in order to develop effective technical specifications
  • Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to the Solution Designer and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements
  • Serve as a resource for the change enablement team as they evaluate training and performance support needs and design the training and performance support products
 
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • Relevant work experience in technology with a broad understanding across multiple IT disciplines
  • Deep knowledge of the technical environment/ tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages and operating systems) in own area
  • Knowledge of Bank and technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) and managing people/projects - Previous Credit Application experience is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of own technology, tools, programming languages, processes, and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of organization issues and technology (software and hardware) leading to the development of comprehensive applications
  • Ability to perform all aspects of research, analysis and/or development; and is responsible for executing all aspects of the development life cycle (experience and knowledge of SDLC is an asset)
  • Ability to work independently with other areas/team members to meet deliverable requirements
  • Expertise in conceptualization and solution definition
  • Experience and knowledge of SDLC is an asset
  • Must be able to hit the ground running
  • Knowledge in Java – Web Services and SOA is a strong asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and be able to work independently as well as within a team and with internal business and technology partners at all levels of the organization
Comment:
We are currently looking for a senior IT BA to work on a number of mid to large scope projects. Successful candidates must have strong presentation and communication skills. Having a high level knowledge technology (Java – SOA – Web Services) is a definite asset. This candidate must have strong business acumen and excellent communication skills. Previous TD SDLC experience with credit application process will put your candidate ahead of the pack. This is a 3 month contract will a possibility of extension. We will begin short listing within 48 hours from the distribution of this requisition – interviews to follow.

Position Responsibilities:
  • View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
  • Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies standards and procedures.
  • Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects
  • Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and Development of complex applications/programs.
  • Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary
  • Work closely with architects to ensure proper system design
  • Present ideas to review boards
  • Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production
  • View packages and products to determine their viability within the solution being considered, or if they would be a good solution in other areas.


Required  Skills & Experience:
  • Must meet minimum time in position and performance management requirements (minimum “V2”)
  • 7-10 years of related experience
  • BS Computer Science or related field, MS a plus
  • Experience with structured development and analysis methodologies and /or other iterative development methodologies such as Agile
  • Experience in designing or developing application framework for Web development or testing or quality assurance
  • Extensive experience delivering application design & framework, including object oriented analysis and design, component based Web architectures and data structure design
  • Strong understanding of technology in a distributed architecture environment including LINUX, UNIX, Windows, Web Application Server and Data Servers is required
  • Highly experienced in System Development Lifecycle including requirements definition, functional design, detailed design, source control, change control, and integration testing
  • Experience developing and deploying solutions on IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS) and Java Platform
  • Experience integrating systems utilizing SOA, EAI and ETL technologies
  • Experience integrating web sites with services such as web content management, personalization, social commerce, payment gateways, logistics and web analytics
  • Demonstrated breadth of IT knowledge ranging from web middleware, web protocols, Java, eCommerce, networking, operating systems (Unix, Linux and Windows), server hardware, storage, databases, scalability, performance, configuration and change management, and high availability
  • Support experience and working in remote teams would be a plus
  • Previous experience in technical project leadership role
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical.
  • Understands the financial implications of the project (i.e. software capitalization, Cost/benefits, etc.).
  • Strong decision making abilities
  • Ability to lead and mentor others
  • Retail experience would be a plus
  • ERP/other SAP functional experience would be a plus
  • Application Security experience would be a plus
  • Performance tuning

Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, Process Excellence, the Senior Process Analyst is accountable for assisting in the design and refinement of core processes, with a focus on the identification and definition of the current ‘as is’ processes, developing an understanding of the variability in how the processes are performed at the branch, region, or department level, and preparing recommendations for process improvement and/or redesign. The Analyst will facilitate the collection of desired process outcomes from the business or process owners, and work with these groups and IT, Finance, and others to establish the appropriate process metrics going forward as changes are implemented.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
Process Design/Development:
  • Work with the Business and key Operations Groups to define and/or refine current and target process mappings
  • Identify issues with current and proposed processes and propose recommended improvements that could alleviate issues and improve performance
  • Work with the business to troubleshoot process and quality issues with current processes as they arise

Define Process Control and Quality Measures:
  • Lead the development of new processes to support the implementation of new Shared Services and Centralized client service strategies
  • Define measures and metrics approaches that can be employed to measure process effectiveness on an ongoing basis
  • Work with other Operations staff to define a plan for continuous improvement of processes, and support process centralization planning
  • Support the company direction to move towards a Six Sigma environment
 
Staff Development:
  • Through presentation of work product(s) and working sessions with staff support the transfer of knowledge of process development and design
  • Act as a change agent working with Business and other Operations staff to identify approaches to improving processes and related organization change
  • Support the building of a process standardization approach to managing core activities
 
 
Requirements or Qualifications:
 
Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Proven experience with the design and creation of business processes; preferably in Financial Services or large organizations
  • Proven experience in the creation of and leading of process development sessions (JAD or similar) with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in process development to support the migration of business activities from branch/department centric to centralized processing
  • Experience in large, multi-faceted operations with a mix of operations structures and applications, and variable processes – e.g. Automated, manual
  • Experience in SharePoint environments an asset
  • Industry Recognized Project and/or Process Management Certification
  • University Degree

Our client has a requirement for an Intermediate Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity.  The position is located in Mississauga.

Role:
We are looking for a strong Project Manager to manage Credit Card project activities of small to medium complexity or units/phases of a larger complex project Plan;
  • Execute, control and close out project against defined scope and budget.
  • Utilize accepted standards and procedures.
  • Maintain team relationships and team coaching and development.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance.
The successful candidate will lead a team in high level research and analysis of business requirements, detailed design specification, program code development, testing and deployment of several medium complexity projects.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day to day development and support activities of 1 or more projects at a time
  • Works independently
  • Creation of detailed project plans as required including delivery of the applicable SDLC and PMLC documents.
  • Work with the delivery and support teams to deliver solutions to the business partner and meet the approved scope/cost/schedule/quality for the project.
  • Provide effective and timely communications to the business partner, key stakeholders and the project team.
  • Status reporting, project change control, continual risk/issue assessment/ management, and escalation/resolution are essential.
  • Collaborate with the management team to manage the overall project portfolio and challenges facing the team and participate in the development of strategy to address gaps.
  • Manage a team that consists of IT specialists and 2 to 3 developers for each project.
  • Management of small to large projects (ranging in size from $500K to $2M), including multiple internal applications and external vendors.
  • Estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and management of progress, issues, budget, risk and resources.
  • Accountability for project budget and time lines. 

Requirements or Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing IT projects.
  • Full life cycle development experience.
  • SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Experience with proven project methodology tools.
  • Experience with credit card and TSYS.
  • Experience with Financial Systems
  • PMI or ITIL certification.
  • Expertise in MS Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent influence skills and executive communication skills.

Reporting to the Vice President, Process Excellence, the Senior Process Analyst is accountable for assisting in the Design and Refinement of core processes, with a focus on the identification and definition of the current ‘as is’ processes, developing an understanding of the variability in how the processes are performed at the branch, Region, or department level, and preparing recommendations for process improvement and/or redesign. The Analyst will facilitate the collection of desired process outcomes from the business or process owners, and work with these groups and IT, Finance, and others to establish the appropriate process metrics going forward as changes are implemented.


Core Responsibilities:

Process Design/Development:
  • Work with the Business and key Operations Groups to define and/or refine current and target process mappings
  • Identify issues with current and proposed processes and propose recommended improvements that could alleviate issues and improve performance
  • Work with the business to troubleshoot process and quality issues with current processes as they arise

Define Process Control and Quality Measures:
  • Lead the development of new processes to support the implementation of new Shared Services and Centralized client service strategies
  • Define measures and metrics approaches that can be employed to measure process effectiveness on an ongoing basis
  • Work with other Operations staff to define a plan for continuous improvement of processes, and support process centralization planning
  • Support the company direction to move towards a Six Sigma environment
Staff Development:
  • Through presentation of work product(s) and working sessions with staff support the transfer of knowledge of process development and design
  • Act as a change agent working with Business and other Operations staff to identify approaches to improving processes and related organization change
  • Support the building of a process standardization approach to managing core activities


Requirement or Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with the design and creation of business processes; preferably in Financial Services or large organizations
  • Proven experience in the creation of and leading of process development sessions (JAD or similar) with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in process development to support the migration of business activities from branch/department centric to centralized processing
  • Experience in large, multi-faceted operations with a mix of operations structures and applications, and variable processes – eg. Automated, manual
  • Experience in SharePoint environments an asset


Education:
  • Industry Recognized Project and/or Process Management Certification
  • University Degree
